Unfinished Business — The Sluttpådawn War

Edit as of April 7th, 2024, 5:28 PM EDT: Hot Chocolate was only included in the list because it was a WV historic server on our nation page of old servers. They were only for landless purposes, not for actual claiming lol. It’s been removed and was not intentional.

War flag of the United Servers of the Water Vikings.

As of April 7th, 2024, 2:30 PM EDT, the United Servers of the Water Vikings, after a unanimous Higher Command decision, are at war with the Empire of Templaria.

There is some unfinished business from the past few years.

In August 2022, after cooperation in the Second Eagre Foray, the idea between Water Vikings and Templars leadership about being allies after years of being enemies and being at war with one another every few months was floated. We were pleased with the news because it genuinely felt we were geopolitically on the same page.

Informal discussions between myself and Xing regarding the idea started in August and continued for the next few months.

However, in a shocking twist of events, the Templars declared war on us. Except…they used an invalid declaration from April. Oh the lulz. Ultimately, the short war was split 1-1 with WV besting TCP in the only actual contest. Templars proceeded to spread misinformation that we sued for peace (which makes no sense when we literally just humilated a larger force, lol). The truth of the matter is we were approached by Rowan about brokering a neutral peace with Xing being fine with it, and given we wanted to focus internally we saw no issue with this.

Few months would pass. WV entered a temporary lockdown where leadership would focus on fixing the army without the stress of holding events. WV had been approached again about an alliance by TCP. Our Higher Command ultimately voted it down as we felt betrayed by TCP. Nevertheless, we looked to still improve relations.

Once again, the initiative to ally with WV was started by TCP.

That progress was erased not long afterwards with TCP declaring war on WV in World War 9. It was at this point we accepted that the Templars hadn’t changed when our rivalry was still hot. We’ve cooperated with TCP quite a few times since, but there’s always been a rift.

The breaking point for us was TCP’s dishonor by ditching the New Year Bonanza battle against us. Listen, I have no quarrel with armies sitting out of tournaments if they don’t think they’ll win or think they will max too small. That is honorable if you abstain from rebuilding to eventually win. But…why register, log on, and at the last time ditch the battle?

To me, there has been unfinished business for years and it’s time we finish it.

War Terms

  1. Allied attendance is allowed by default in line with traditional CPA war rules. For allies to not be allowed, both sides must agree to it on a battle-by-battle basis. Should there be allied attendance for battles that have it disallowed, the battle is to be forfeited rather than the whole war.
  2. Dual enlistment is allowed by default in line with traditional CPA war rules. For dual enlistment to not be allowed, both sides must agree to it on a battle-by-battle basis. Should there be dual enlistment attendance for battles that have it disallowed, the battle is to be forfeited rather than the whole war.
  3. External involvement (i.e. external attendance from people in other armies) is allowed. External attendance though is prohibited if either the aforementioned two are enforced for a battle. Should there be external attendance for battles that have it disallowed, the battle is to be forfeited rather than the whole war. External declarations are not allowed though, making this a “1v1 war” between the two armies.
  4. All battles have to be judged by officiated judges from Club Penguin Army Judges.
  5. All invasions need to be scheduled 24-hours in advance with the Club Penguin Armies league and the invading army must notify at minimum one of the defending army’s leaders in advance. Failure to do so will have the invasion be invalid.
  6. Should the map be released while the war is still going on, all server transfers to any involved armies will automatically be made invalid.
  7. No army is allowed to merge into any involved armies following this declaration and will stay in place until the war has concluded. Any merger will be deemed invalid.
  8. No doxxing, ddosing, botting, multilogging, pizza-bombings, or swattings are allowed in any shape or form. Violation of this term upon Club Penguin Armies administration review will constitute a forfeit of the war.
  9. Once an army is up 15 or more wins in the war score, that army may declare victory without objection. This is to prevent a long-drawn war with no conclusion—demotivating both sides. An unconditional force treaty can only be enforced if all of a nation’s servers have been captured once the map releases.
  10. Running or withdrawing from the war (i.e. an involved party unilaterally signifying they are no longer contending the war or no-showing 6 consecutive battles) will result in the remaining army being able to declare victory without objection.
  11. Any other map rules imposed by the Club Penguin Armies league will apply to this war.

Admittedly, I don’t recall the last time Water Vikings fought a war without allies attending. You’d probably have to go back to early 2022. It is ironic I say this when I proceed to allow allies; however, WV has asked the armies with formal alliances not to help WV during the war.

Note the decision to consult only HF and RPF was due to them having formal military alliances in our foreign relations system (and thus cooperate on war matters) and having those alliances for 2+ years.

WV in all of its invasion filings will also be requesting for allies to be disallowed. I am only allowing them to experiment with an old warfare rule. I also know TCP uses allies a lot for its events, so to make it a more even fight I don’t mind them bringing a few. I’m hoping TCP makes the right decision to disallow allies every battle though to maintain what’s left of their honor.

Templars—the former kings of warfare—crave warfare. Water Vikings—an army that is consistently good but lacks much to its war legacy—craves honor. It is no secret that TCP has been in a very awkward position for the past few months. I mean, LOOK at this.

Come on. At least war a alive army. You made fun of us in 2022 for having low reactions to events and hardly being an army so…

And if you need a list of servers for no-land invasions, you can use this list 😉

Frostbite; the long-time capital of the Water Vikings.
Parka; the original capital (and later on co-capital) of the Water Vikings. It is the birth server of the Water Vikings.
Sparkle; a former co-capital of the Water Vikings.
Ice Box; a former co-capital of the Water Vikings.
Subzero; a former co-capital of the Water Vikings after the IW exodus to WV of 2015.
New Frostbite; the capital of the Water Vikings on the CPAHeadquarters’ map.
Ice Breaker; a former long-time server that later became popularized in the CPPS era.
South Pole; the former AUSIA headquarters.
Husky; the former war headquarters.
Snow Flake; the former home quarters of the higher command.
Hypothermia; the former home quarters of the moderators and officers.
Slippers; the retiree home of all former Viking Commanders.
Snow Shoe; the retiree home of all former higher command members.

I hope you make the right decision to honor our requests for no-allies on an individual basis for each battles. Our rivalry is one of the best of the CPPS era and I know TCP craves a real opponent. See you on the battlefield.

P.S. shoutout to Calgo for figuring out what we wanted to rip. DM me for a month-long custom role. 😛 Also no hard feelings PIC, we wanted to improve relations regardless, especially after that cooperation in the Color Wars battle. You just coincidentally happen to be TCP’s ally too.
